It would be unwise to swing for the chair in this case, even if somehow they both got convicted of murder 1, which they probably won't, they would still have to go through a lengthy appeals process, which they will probably win. My guess is they get voluntary manslaughter, and 25 years each. Not to mention killing two children for one makes no logical sense.

What happened from what IT APPEARS is that they went to take her bike, she struggled, and they killed her on accident. I dont believe they went from ripping $300 bikes straight to capital murder. They SHOULD be tried as adults, as if they are "mature" enough to commit these actions, then they are indeed mature enough to reap the consequences. The only reason a jouvenile should be tried as a jouvenile is if they are unable to understand the possible consequences of their actions, ie they dont know any better. At 15 and 17, they surely knew better.
They may be very sorry for their actions eventually, as 25 behind bars should help them figure it out
