Chicago & Martial Law

I received a phone call last night from my cousin talking about if she could move to Atl in my place for the next couple weeks.

She told me that pre-martial law has been executed in Chicago( Due to NATO Summit) and feels she is not safe. After witnessing multiple military trucks, military men, and warnings from the media for possible city-wide evacuation.... Is this Not Treason? Why put millions of citizens in harms way? Why spend millions in tax?

This is just Obama trying to show off how much good he did in Chicago. How successful his programs for non-violence and peacefulness were.



Lets get real though, not only is Chicago a war zone this time of year, you are going to have international nutcases around this. A Summit like this belongs at a secure location such as a military base, not a major city. Random gunmen at the end of a Cubs or Sox game wold have much more effect than knocking off some mid level bureaucrat. Those gunmen also have a decent chance of getting away with it at the end of a baseball game. And there just happens to be a Cubs vs Sox game on the 20th on the Northside.

I don't see the problem.

- Government spending money that shouldn't be spent. When other options are clearly available.
- Use of military force as a police force is ILLEGAL (Unless in times of chaos/extreme circumstances)
- Urban warfare drills w/ military presence and use of hospitals to exercise drills of biological circumstances.
- Detention camps being utilized in case it is needed

All in all it seems like our government is preparing for a catastrophe (As if they are expecting War is to break out). Why is the preparation needed when all of this could be avoided and kept quiet.

The simple minded people here... Its ok to accept the position... Just bend over it will be over for you soon enough.

It's just preparation and practice. It's all for security reasons, I don't see the big deal personally. Sure it would be better on a military base or something, but it's not. I don't see anything mentioned here actually wrong.

Plus where does anything actually say Chicago will be under military control? There's a big difference in having a strong military presence and actually being under martial law.
