I'm definitely not one for this new biblical direction thing in politics, but in him saying that, I think he is trying to gain the appeal of that conservative Christian base. His past speeches would lead me to believe that, anyway. Believe it or not, Obama is one of the more secular leaders we've had in recent history. With that said, I think it's rather tactless that leaders (bible banging conservatives or otherwise) have to quote from the bible in order to get their point across to their constituents.

I am part of the conservative christian base, this guy is a joke. The Bible doesn't say give until you can't give any more. Jesus commanded to pay taxes....but this Obama is a joke man. How about this, instead of taxing the already broke @$$ populous and the small businesses that provide them jobs; every branch of government is to get a serious pay cut. How about across the board, $40,000 salary. That goes from the lowest lobbyist to the president himself? Oh, and since they are some of the highest earning "middle class"...how about they stop taking so many damn vacations and flights on private jets. They need to work 9-5 monday through friday and holidays just like the regular old guy. They work for us damn it. Obama nor the mormon will get my vote because as far as i am concerned they are all corrupt. The only one i will be casting a vote for is Ron Paul. That guy has kept his same views for a long freakin time and he is too old to get involved with the "politics" of presidency. Conservative Christian base....HA! At work i always tell people "i wouldnt ask you to do anything i wouldnt do".... i wish our government could say that............................. they keep telling us how we're gonna have to cut back, pay more taxes and help get america back on track...... but theyre taking vacations in the middle of a crisis that they created. Something we agree about. I have yet to see a vote with my Rep, Phil Gingrey, that I agree with. I still dont know I will be be voting for him come November.

Change in this country needs to start in 2 places.

First, we need a tax code that doesnt allow more than half the country a free ride or even a reduce ride. It is time for either a consumption tax, which I prefer, or a flat tax. No more deductions, no more loopholes.

Second, we need to stop the cronyism between business and govt. No more subsidies, loans, or bailouts for anyone. No more special tax breaks. No more preference in contracts.

The sad truth is that those people that only wish to amass more money power and fame are the ones that dictate which health insurance you have to buy, which light bulbs you are required to use. How much of the money you earn you should be allowed to keep. Politics really doesnt make sense, but it has a massive effect on our day to day lives.
