Interesting video, I mainly just like how its made... really trippy.

Haven't watched the video yet but a Chinese invasion of the US makes no sense whatsoever. Look what happened when the greatest military and technological powerhouse in the world tried to invade a relatively small and technologically primitive Iraq. Now imagine what a mess it would be for anyone to try and invade the US. Not to mention what would the response be from the rest of the world? The old invade and conquer style of warfare is pretty much on its deathbed. Future wars will be more and more information wars.
For simple logistical reasons, the only way to invade the US would be to come from Canada or Mexico. It would not be possible to build up a force large enough to invade without the US knowing in either of those countries so an invasion attempt would be crushed before it ever got started.
The war phase went off perfectly and it was a complete route. It was the police action that was a complete mess. That mess was mainly caused by interference from non-Iraqi 'freedom fighters' and the support they received from Saudi Arabia and Iran. The biggest mistake of the entire fiasco in Iraq was that US troops did not seal off the borders. If they seal the borders, Iraq sees a VASTLY different outcome.
An invasion of the US would be futile for MANY reasons. The biggest reason would be the strength of our military. After that you have location, distance, and the fact that the US citizenry is VERY well armed. A successful invasion of the US would take decades of preparation and would center around infiltrating hundreds of thousands of people into the country over many years. These people would be needed to attack and sabotage our infrastructure. Roads, bridges and communications would need to be cut off for weeks while an invasion force assembles in their home country then makes the trek to the US coastline. On top of that, this sabotage would need to look like accidents or be set up in a way that forces US law enforcement to look into local groups. Even if that all goes well, the invasion fleet would need to get to its offload point without being spotted by American or British .
Im guessing no one saw the repetition?
I'm pretty sure this video was intended to be analogous
The point of the video isn't about the threat of China invading us, it tells us that we need to stop invading other nations. We need to put ourselves in the "shoes" of people from other nations to see what it would feel like if a foreign nation invaded us. And he's right, it's not isolationism at all I don't know why people say that. Ron Paul FTW.
We did put ourselves in their shoes long before they were even sovereign countries. We put ourselves in their shoes in 1775 while they were still colonies of England, France, and Spain. We grew out of a theocracy and religious oversight of our culture. Whether they grow out of that or not is not our concern. When they publicly threaten US citizens it is our concern. When an act of war is committed on our country it should be treated like an act or war and our response should be in kind.
It is isolationism. Ron Paul's foreign policy is the same as Obama's, to run and hide from our enemies and hope they stop hating us. The Chinese dont like us selling weapons to Taiwan, lets stop selling to Taiwan and hope China is happy. Iran doesnt like our support of Israel, lets cut off Israel and let Iran nuke them. That way, Iran will like us. One question, when do we stop running and hiding from our enemies and leaving our friends out to dry? Before or after the genocide?
By act of war do you mean 9/11? If so, Is that why we have military presence in MULTIPLE nations fighting various "wars?" First of all, there is a lot of evidence suggesting that 9/11 was not committed by terrorists. Second, even if the story we were told was legitimate, why would we go to war with a NATION just because a few people committed an act of violence?
Also, it is not isolationism. You're taking things to the far extreme. If China doesn't like us selling weapons to Taiwan should we stop? How about NO.... If Iran doesn't like our support of Israel, why would we cut them off? We wouldn't.... Where has Ron Paul said that we need to cut ties to all these nations because I haven't heard this. Please post a link or something?
His foreign policy is that we don't need to war with other nations for no damn reason. We can still support who we support and dislike who we dislike, we just need to stop intervening everywhere and remove most of our people from overseas and be done with these skirmishes. Imagine if the government had put every dollar it spent into the wars overseas in the last 6 years....oh say into the economy....into taxpayers hands? You're talking about trillions of dollars that have been wasted. It's ridiculous. How about we focus on getting our situation fixed before we spend money we DO NOT have to bully others around?
Actually I mean the logistical and material support of foreign fighters in Iraq from 2003-present. Every single time Iran provided them with bombs, weapons, food and water they were committing acts of war against the US.
ah a truther. You have a LOT more faith in our govt than I do. If 9/11 was an inside job like you believe the truth would have come out. The simple fact is that we were caught with our pants down because of Clinton era policies within the intelligence services.
Because that nation was both complicit and in support of those that did.
So we should keep doing what we are doing now? We should keep doing those same things that has Iran, China, and Russia so pissed off? SO what exactly should we change?
You could add up 10 years of spending on both Iraq and Asscrackistan and still come about 500B short of this year's deficit alone. FACT, Iraq and Asscrackistan are FAR less expensive than welfare.
What war are we in for no reason? We had a legitimate reason for Asscrackistan, we had legitimate reasons for Iraq. We even had a legitimate reason for Libya. Hell, we have legitimate reasons to head into Mexico and Iran also. I say we start with Mexico. Most of them want to be in the US anyways. We can nuke Iran, they have nothing we need but oil and their major cities and military bases are mostly well away from the oil fields.
An act of war by a group of radicals. Not a country. We were there to remove the Taliban and Al-Queda. Afghanistan was in solidarity for the most part. Job is well past done. Time to go home
You know they're fighting us because we're in there right? Hate to tell you, but its not because they dont like our way of life.Originally Posted by BanginJimmy
It doesnt matter how short it comes to this years deficit. The point is that it adds to it and not spending it would be an INCREDIBLY significant savings. How many people do you think you could feed, or put through college with more than a trillion dollars.
We were in Afghanistan for too long, We were in Iraq entirely too long. We had no legitimate reason to be in Libya, we have absolutely no reason to go to war with Mexico. How did you seriously even formulate that idea? You think because of drug cartels? Cause if so, the U.S. is in SERIOUS trouble. Nukes? Are you being serious?Originally Posted by BanginJimmy
Then we have committed acts of war against Iran when we supported Iraq during the war between the two. Why were they fighting against Iran? Because of the 1979 revolution in Iran that was spurring a Shia uprising in Iraq. Why was there a revolution in 1979? Because the people of Iran wanted to overthrow the Shah. Why was the Shah in power? Because of the coup that the CIA orchestrated in 1953 to overthrow Mosaddegh. The major problems in that region, between those 2 countries were essentially created by the US getting involved in situations we had no business being in. I can see a fairly strong case right there for at least a less interventionist foreign policy. Certainly complete abstinence is impossible and ill advised, but we need to take a long hard look at some of our foreign policy. I'm usually in agreement with your views, but I've gotta disagree here. Non-interventionist and isolationist are not one in the same.
Why invade when you make so much money off this country. I want to know how much money China and other countries spend in our elections
2006 Evo IX - Bolt ons
and if the chinese invaded...i would fight alongside many of you!!
Perhaps, but with how fucked up some of the people in office are, I wouldn't put it past some of them....I don't know one way or the other, how could I? I just think our money...and it is our money that will eventually pay for this....should go to better things. Welfare also needs to be reformed. So does a lot of gov. programs and policies.
The US has engaged in proxy warfare since before WWII. It is absolutely nothing new and I fully agree that the US is one of the top offenders.
I am.a firm believer in the US military. I believe that it should not be used unless it is going to be used at full capacity. Unless the politicians are willing to do what is necessary to win a war they shouldn't vote to fight one. This has been a display of American political weakness since Nam.

Oh don't get me wrong, I fully support our military and our soldiers, I just don't support those in DC that like to play politics with the military.
