Heard this the other day, Corolla is dead on too, this is exactly what happens when you raise an entire generation teaching them that there are no winners or losers and everyone is special, a bunch of idiots who don't get it when the real world smacks them in the face.
Spot on. Period.
This one is along the same lines, albeit a lot nicer:

I agreed with the first part. I hate "self-entitled ass-douches" too. But that goes for everybody, no matter what you do, no matter how much you make. But then he lost me when he started talking about the non-existent attack on Christmas and relating the 99% to terrorists, which is really deplorable, which is when I realized his argument wasn't really based on facts, but more on his feelings, which is whatever, but it should only be taken as such. Shame, Adam. For someone with such talent...funny, the more i read about him, the more despicable I find that man. Makes me wonder who he's really speaking about when he says "self entitled ass douche"...
And as far as Bill Whittle goes, it seems like he didn't know a thing he was talking about. It was clear he definitely didn't understand the movement. At least Adam had some passion to his rant, albeit a false premise.
Bill Whittle, who are you anyway? Lol.
He has a point in a philosophical way, not a literal way. No one is looking to cancel christmas or anything like that. The attack on christmas is taking the religion out of the religious holiday. Instead of christmas break for kids in school, it is winter break. Its no longer a christmas tree, its a holiday tree.
Did you find it equally horrible when the left was calling the tea party terrorists? No one can deny the fact that the occupy people have used FAR more violence to achieve their goals than the tea party did or does.
BTW, the 99%, are more like the 10%. They certainly dont speak for me or my values, nor have my best interests in mind.
Triple post
Whoops
Its just poor christians who are feeling disenfranchised because there are other people in this country who celebrate other holidays around this time. Besides, historically, its not really even a christian holiday, and it wasnt always called christmas anyway. Who really cares what you call it? The christians bastardized the holiday long long ago, and now THEYRE upset? The only people in the war on christmas is the people saying theres a legitimate war on christmas.
I find it horrible when anyone tries to relate peaceful protestors to fundamentalist Islamic radicals who actually terrorize and kill innocent people. I also find it horrible that THATS the only leg he tried to stand on, even though its not a real leg. LOL. And yes, no one can deny the fact that the police have incited more violence with the occupy movement than they did with the Tea Party movement, probably because the Tea Party never gained near the support the Occupy movement did. The 99% is a mathematical figure in which YOU and everyone on this forum are included (unless you happen to make more than $500k/yr) If you make more than that, you are not the 99%, if you make less, then you are. The occupy movement is about getting money out of politics and ending corporate personhood, If THAT doesn't speak for you than thats your prerogative. Those are the facts. "Laziness" "Handouts" "hippies" "free free free" et cetera are ONLY opinionsOriginally Posted by BanginJimmy
1. Is he just mad because his new show sucks?
2. I HATE HATE HATE how ONLY the extreme right or extreme left are made examples of. There are plenty of sane and reasonable people smack dab in the middle (such as the people who carried on with their lives as normal during the tea party and 99% BS). Never hear about democrat John and republican Mark who went about their shit and took care of their family instead of bi-partisan bickering.
3. Envy never used to exist? Really? How many wars throughout history have been based on envy or greed? Think he's heard of Cain and Abel?
4. I have no problem paying additional taxes as my income increases.
5. I am probably going to get flamed even though this was written to be neutral.
1. I know Christmas is actually a Pagan holiday. I believe that Alexander the Great is the one that said they would celebrate the birth of Christ on Dec.25.
2. I agree, Christmas has become nothing more than a marketing tool.
Oh so it had nothing to do with the people burning building and taking a shit on a flag. It was the police that started it by attacking poor people who were just following the law. Typical occutard. No sense of personal responsibility.
Whats funny is that the Tea Party got several GOP elected to congress, occupy doesnt even know what it wants. Its nothing more than a bunch of disgruntled people that think the govt should give them a "living wage" whether they decide to work for it or not.
1. Top 1% make about 350k a year and up.
2. Occupy doesnt speak for me or represent any of my values. They do no speak for anyone who believes in personal responsibility or economic liberty. They do speak for communists, socialists, and anti-Semites though.
3. Occupy backers always bring up the "money out of politics" thing. Where do you get that from? The same lists of demands that want free health care, free college, and a paycheck even if you dont work?
4. These idiots may fall into the lowest 99% of tax payers, more likely the bottom 50%, but they only speak and carry the ideals of 1% of the population.
So ALL Occupy protestors burned buildings and shit on flags? Or it was just an isolated incident and you're making a sweeping generalization like the rest of Fox and Friends?
The Tea Party sure got done what they wanted to get done, when they asked for smaller government, they got elected to it and made it bigger. Brilliant strategy. Occupy is protesting the broken system. What sense does it make to get elected to it?Originally Posted by BanginJimmy
I can tell you still dont understant the occupy movement...Originally Posted by BanginJimmy
1. So you make more than $350K/year? If you dont, you are the 99%.
2-3. Occupy values are ending corporate personhood, and getting money out of politics, and more recently focusing on the militarization of civilian law enforcement. If you follow the protests or watch videos or even look up information on the movement, you'll see where that comes from. I believe in personal responsibility and economic equality and I am in full solidarity with the movement. If those arent your personal values, then that is your prerogative. I still don't think you know what "communists, socialists, and anti-semites" means. Lol.
4. Its not the bottom 99% of tax payers, its the bottom 99% of wage earners. And they carry the ideals of quite a bit of the population.
And why do conservatives keep bringing up the fact that "The Tea Party has a caucus. The tea party got elected". Are they suggesting that the only way to get change in the govt is to get elected to it? LOL. Look what that brought us anyway: Michelle Bachmann. You're not making a good name for yourselves, Tea Party, at least with smart people...
I guess I just don't see the evidence that this generation is any more self entitled than others. It is not immune to douchebaggery either of course. In general, young people are more idealistic and have more free time so it's not unexpected that young people are more likely to protest while older people often have accepted the status quo. In the end, this rant doesn't offer much if any value. He just comes off like a pissed off grandfather who thinks the whole world is going to shit because the youth don't see the world the way he does. He may not be self entitled but he certainly is self righteous.
So lets protest to the businesses and not the government? Money out of politics means go after politicians. If they wanted that goal they should be for the fairtax. It gets the lobbiest to go bye-byes. No more tax breaks. But this also means that the 99% will pay the same amount the 1% does but you have to realize the 1% will by more shit.
As for the person that said the system is broken. You are highly incorrect. The capitalistic system has brought more people out of poverty than any other system. Lazy people are the ones that believe that the system is broken because they don't want to work. 50% of the people in the country don't pay any income taxes. 50%!!!!! That is half of the United States. These people are under the illusion they are owed something and they shouldn't have to work for it. Same thing with healthcare. They think it is to expensive and they should get it free. I don't get it free, i pay for mine but that is my choice. I dont make much but i know i need it. Prices of healthcare has gone up due to regulations on the healthcare industries. Free market makes everything cheaper and fair to all consumers. When it comes down to it both parties are guilty for fucking up the housing market, healthcare market, etc. with lobbyist and the politicians lining there pockets with money from them. Go AFTER THE POLITICIANS NOT THE JOBS. The businesses keep this country running.
Plus capitalism is what has made this country what it is. We would not have the technological advances we have these days without capitalism. We wouldnt even have a cell phone, ipad, radio, tv etc. One person makes a product and gets in a free market and tries to sell there product. This is how capitalism works. Under the rule of government they would put a product out and no one else could compete and where there is no competition no way to advance. Businesses provide commodities to satisfy a consumer’s need or want. If that business cannot satisfy the consumer or does not change, they simply go away no matter how big or small. Capitalism will work if the government will let it do what it needs to with restriction.
Several incidents.
And speaking of generalizations . . . . .
Depends on what you define as bigger. The budget is now increasing at a slower pace than it was. Regulation is out of the purview of congress. No new agencies.
I dont define myself by my income, so no, I am not in the 99% they claim to speak for.
I've posted 2 different sets of 'demands' from occupy and you were the one that told me not to pay attention to those. So what am I supposed to pay attention to if not for their own writings and words?
You are correct. The bottom 99% of tax PAYERS are earning a lot more money than the occupiers. No, they really dont. The vast majority of the population still believes you should actually have to pay for your own education and that you should have to work to earn a paycheck.
Just wanted to point out that occupy protests have targeted government as well. There was a protest at Fannie and Freddie for example.
Furthermore, let's get this straight. We do not live in a purely capitalistic free market society. We never have and we never will. The choice isn't between capitalism and socialism. Capitalism is an economic system, not a governing system. As an economic system, capitalism is very good for innovation and growth but it also is often accompanied by booms and busts which can cause great problems. Regulation is necessary to help balance the innovative potential of free market capitalism with its wild swings. Capitalism may be the best economic system we have but it is far from perfect.
