Obama sure did make a joke of the election system. I guess we need to get Tom Brady to run against him.

I don't understand. Every politican holds fundraising events with expensive entry fees. What is so interesting about this one?

they can do whatever legally to raise funds, the fact that a bunch of rich people support obama is nothing new.

The irony is how stinging this is in the fact of 9%+unemployment and hes having a $40,000 a ticket campaign dinner/event

its just annoying that all these celebs are now interested in politics. Probably has nothing to do with Obama being black.

9% unemployment and the NBA spent months refusing to go to work for millions of dollars a year.

Celebrities have tried to get involved in politics for quite some time so I don't see anything new here. The 40k price tag does highlight the huge income gap in this country and how important money is in politics. I wish I could say these things were new but they aren't either of course.

im sure the GOP will have $40,000 a ticket dinners too.

I just think its funny when Obama lampoons the "rich" that are the same people he hobknobs with and collects money from. Hes just as corporate as the rest of the people running for office

I don't think he lampoons them. Obviously many corporations and rich individuals don't feel he does either or they wouldn't keep giving him money hand over fist like they are. I completely agree he is backed by corporations as much as any other politician. He did set some fund raising records thanks to those corporations after all. This day in age, good luck reaching any high position in government without their support.
