Teachers on average work a few hundred less hours per year than the average worker. This includes BLS estimated outside of the workplace hours, pta meetings, homework grading, etc.

A lot of jobs do plenty of work at home. Teachers on average only do slightly more work at home than the average person.

I don't see a mass exodus of people from IT and engineering schools switching to education programs. None of my coworkers in the education field are living in big houses or driving fancy cars.

Its a skill set that not everyone has. How many of y'all have ever worked with kids? It damn sure isn't for everyone. I am glad I don't have to work with them, or even the general public for that matter, lol.
