my little brother is going to court tomorrow. he got a ticket for speeding, going 65 on a 45, not stopping at stop sign, and driving with suspended tag. he's at the age of 17. if he doesn't have enough money to pay for the fees right there, would he go on probation until it's paid off or how does this work. he got caught in barrow county.

Man his INSURANCE is going to be HIGH, one thing I would try to plea is asking if they won't put it on his MVR. I sell insurance, trust me, he does not want that on there affecting him for the next 3 years.

nolo maybe, if he can't pay they may be able to do payments and not go on probation but it needs to stay off his MVR. also if the cop writes the ticket a certain way it doesn't show up. i had a GSP in 2001 write me a ticket for 101 in a 70 and since i had military personnel in the car it did not go on my MVR, just lucky i guess.

i dont think that he can do a nolo at 17 you ahve to be 18. i got a ticket for 75 in a 55 in athens. it was 2 months before i turned 18. what the prosectuer let me do was pospone the court till i was 18 so i could do a nolo. then just pay the fine and it does not go on the record.

Also, Nolo does NOT keep it off your record, that is a common misconception. Let us know how it turns out.

the court went ok, they made a deal with him. $600 fee, 56 hr of community service, DDS, and a essay. if he does that in 3 month, it wont go on his record. all his ticket total up is $1200, so i guess he got a deal.

yeah thats not too bad.....sounds like they kinda went a little extreme though. i guess 600 and all that is ok......i was thinking they might go a little lower since its his 1st offense.

Was it on 316? I always do at or under the limit on 316. That whole mo-fo is just one big speed trap, especially in Barrow and Oconee.

They are trying to make sure that stays his ONLY offense.

I didn't say stays IN his offense, I said stays his ONLY offense, by giving him all the community service and the fines, they are doing that so that he thinks twice before doing whatever he did to get pulled over in the first place. In other words they are trying to make an example out of him.

i live in barrow and trust me when i say there are more speed traps in gnett than barrow cuz i go that way all the time. did a barrow county get you or a city of auburn, if it was auburn city then they are crooked at fudge.

yea auburn city has a record with some people i went to school with and tax you out the ass and shoot for you. watch out for them because they are no good, i think it was like 04 when they had to redo the whole system because they were caught being crooked.
