well 99% of people that have ran for president have been white. I would think that if a black man or any minority came any where close to being the first african american president it would be a big deal. I would think that our children will be taught about Hillary Clinton for a few years to come simply because she was a woman running for leader of the country and she really shook things up rather than being shrugged off and not taken seriously.

Black voter turnout increased by 2 million.. the majority being around the 18-24 age range. Hispanics had the same increase and Asians about 600k.

if he claimed he was white instead of black he wouldnt be president. kinda like how he went from being muslim and "converted" to catholicism when he started campaigning. He had a game plan that worked brilliantly by getting record amounts of black people who normally would vote, to vote for him.

besides there are so many variations of black that sometimes it's easier to tell someone you're black. instead of i'm 20% this 20% this and 60% that.

unfortunately, because of the racial problems we are faced with on a day to day basis, the real reason is that even if you look white, and you tell someone white that you are mixed, you are automatically concidered anything but white. i am mixed and if you ask my race, i will tell you black.
