    Default Obama Admin appointment questionnaire

Has anyone else heard the stories about this questionnaire? Some of the questions would even disqualify himself from an appointment in his administration.

Here is the complete questionnaire. Let me know what you think.

The ones that strike out at me:

    #18
    #27
    #46
    #59
    #60
    #61
    #62

He's just trying to get a full background on everyone. I don't see anywhere where it says if you answer yes to any of these questions you're immediately disqualified.

I'm glad that he's being so thorough.

What relevance does the fact that someone in an applicants household owns a gun have?

Why does he need disclosure on the results of the latest physical?

The list goes on but dont forget that he would have had to answer yes to a few of these. Such as the sweetheart mortgage on his house in Chicago and the even sweeter deal on a portion of the land next door that was owned by the same person that made the original loan.

To shed a little light on how they feel about the second ammendment

This is pretty much the only valid curiosity that I see. I guess he either just respects people more who take care of themselves or he doesn't want to appoint someone who is about to croak.

I certainly haven't forgotten, I just don't see any problem with him asking. I fully acknowledge that some of his answers might not be favorable on his own questionnaire. Good leaders look for the best people they can to work under them, not just people that make the leader look good. Like I said, he's just being thorough.

so does a potential supreme court nominee get this same questionnaire? The only intrest he could possibly have in the 2nd amendment would be to limit it or dump it all together.

I dont care about his curiosity, this is illegal to ask on a job application, and this IS a job application.

So he is implying that he can do it, but no one else can.

I agree, but we are talking about a politician that is up for re-election in 4 years, not a leader. What do you think weighs heavier on his mind? Doing what is right for the country, diung what is right for the party, or getting re-elected? My vote goes to getting re-elected above all else. This is an ego driven man (like 90% of other politicans that run for president) and his legacy will be severely damaged if he cannot win a second term. He will always be the first black president, but without re-election he will be seen as a failure.

I dont agree at all. Look at the wording on a few of those questions. They specificly mention looking bad for Obama. I would say that he is very worried about making sure he looks good.

Once again, where does it say that if you answer a certain way to one of these questions you won't be considered for a position?

You make some good points on the other aspects (some I agree with, some I don't). But I respect your opinion on them nonetheless so I'm not going to dig any further into them. Plus the fact that I'm too lazy to continue multi-quoting and answering. Bed time.

you've got to remember...IT'S A QUESTIONAIRE, NOT NECESSARILY AN APPLICATION. if this was some sort of "formal" application, then almost ANY presidential candidate would have had trouble on a few of those questions. john mccain would've had the same issue with the specific questions YOU mentioned.

regardless, it's still a questionaire. that's almost like those "applications" you fill out for like circuit city and best buy (not sure if they do it anymore), and they ask you like 50 questions on how you would handle different situations (at work and personal).

he also HAS to make himself look good. you've got to remember, he only got 52% of the popular vote. that leaves 48% of the population that he has to appeal to. i think you're looking a little TOO hard into this just to find faults with the man.

You solidify a point I made earlier, his first priority for this term is to get elected to a second term. With that in mind he is being extremely picky about his appointees. That is fine with me when the scope of the questions is limited to associations with criminal or preferential activity. I also have no problems with asking about political views. My problems come in with his prying into issues that have no bearing on their ability to do the job for which they are being appointed. Like the guns question, like the health question. I cannot think of a single appointment Obama can make that either of these questions has any bearing on.
