What about changin the minds of those expecting their handouts on every 1st and 15th? Greed is a part of the problem, though not nearly as much as dems would like you to think. Another part is this attitude by some that they are owed something, or they have rights to handouts. Neither are true, and both are growing at a dangerous pace.

I agree 100%. Though part of that is consumer ignorance, another part is the fine print that is written in a way that you need a lawyer to understand.

I agree, although I hope the next president shifts us more right and not left. Until this country makes self relaince its #1 priority we will continue to slip on the world stage.

I am basing my opinion on the "in my pocket" politicians (all parties) that run rampant across the states. Greedy people in power are the worst b/c they are all in if for self. Better discussed in person IMO.

Yes and no. I guess I am leaning on the leaders/business in this country, not so much the people directly. It's hard for me to type it out honestly.

Also, I agree the gov't assistance system is VERY flawed! I was naive to the fact that as a college student you are eligible for free money in the form of Food Stamps, lol. IMO there are people who need assistance, whether they fucked up or not, but it should be limited and strict. Honestly, its not just the handout system being milked! These big corps are pocketing $ that they know is dirty money. We need to tighten up the checks and balances of every government program AND the accounting practices of big/small business. Loopholes are all throughout and need to be plugged.

Consumer ignorance plays a large part, but baiting someone on false pretences is horrible. I do not expect us to "babysit" people in regards to their buying habits, but lets not play on peoples ignorance to get $.

The career politican is the bane of the American people. We all know they are only out for self, but we continue to re-elect them to new and higher offices based on what they will do for me. JFK said 1 thing that I have always tried to live by, or at least not against "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". Too many people today have that statement backwards. It's almost hard to believe JFK was a democrat when you look at the dems of today. He would probably be labeled as a far right neo-conservative in todays media.

I kind of know what you are saying, but I am a far right conservative on economic issues. I think busines is best left to monitor itself and the more govt intrusion in it, the more room there is for corruption on all levels.

We need a MAJOR overhaul of handout programs. I have no problem with govt assistance programs, I do have a problem with govt subsistance programs. With all of the oppertunities in this country, if you need govt assistance for more than 3-5 yers it is ONLY because you are not making an effort to help yourself.

Again I agree. People need to take responsibility for themselves and read that fine print, but at the same time, if they take the time to read it and its written in legalese how much good will it do? I know for a fact that I had to go abck through and re-read a loan agreement several times before I had a completel grasp on everything.
