Why? Like seriously why does it piss you off? I am sure you identify as an american and this being the case, you are probably proud when The US does something amazing and rarely seen. Let's use Phelps as an example. When he won 8 medals as an "American" I am sure you are proud because you identify with that group of people ( The USA).
That being said, had you been around (and were a black person) when you could finally use the front door instead of going to the back to get food at a diner, or when you could use the same water fountain as your white counterparts, or when you had a man (a black man) give a speech in Washington DC that got so much praise from not only blacks in the USA but whites and people around the world.... I am sure you too would have held your head a little higher.
I am so over people saying that black people shouldnt be proud, and that the only reason that he won is because black people got out and voted for him BECAUSE he is black. If that is the case then why is it that Al Sharpton was never elected? Why wasnt Jesse Jackson elected? Could it be, omg I cant believe I am typing this ~gasp~ black people have enough sense to base their vote for this candidate solely on the issues?

Not saying that I am not aware that there were people that voted for him because he is black, I know that there were, but I have more respect for them than the people that stayed home and cheered for McCain but assumed that America wasnt ready for a mulatto president and figured that McCain would win.
You wanna get mad at Blacks? Then get mad at me too. I smiled a little more yesterday, held my head a little higher, and had a little more swagger to my step. Not because I am black, because I am not, but because I know what it is like to be discriminated against time and time again based solely on the color of my skin and the language that I speak and not just by whites but by blacks as well. For once in my life I have confidence in the human race that we can get beyond color and realize that we are all human!!! For once in my life I am using the term "American" behind my ethnicity. Why? Because I am PROUD and if my proudness translates into cockyness... Screw it. Jadakiss said it best, "I am not cocky, I am confident."
