PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, apparently because of her political views, police said.
According to WTAE's news exchange partners the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday when a man approached her and put a knife to her throat.
Police spokeswoman Diane Richard said the robber took $60 from Todd, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
The Tribune reported that Todd, who isn't familiar with the area, drove to a friend's house and together the pair located the Citizens Bank ATM at Liberty and Pearl where the attack happened and called police.
Todd declined to comment to the Tribune. Friends said she is in Pittsburgh volunteering for the McCain-Palin campaign.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
The Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, commenting on the attack. The statement said "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."
The McCain-Palin campaign also released a statement saying "The McCain campaign is aware of the incident involving one of its volunteers. Out of respect, the campaign won't be commenting. The campaign also confirms that Senator McCain and Governor Palin have both spoken to the woman."

It's relevant with all these stupid idiot threads in here about how the McCain campaign is supportive of its idiot supporters who go to extrordinarily ignorant lengths. Yet the they have no proof that the McCain campaign in fact supports this. 1. The "attack occurred at an atm yet there's no footage of said "attack'.
2.The alleged assailant started to walk off and then looked at her car and decided to attack her?
3. If you look at the pic, for her to have been butchered as it is claimed, why doesn't it look more serious.?
4. If she was in fact punched, why is the swelling and discoloration so minimal?

lol, i was thinking the same thing. i've been sucker punched in the eye before...even had to have my eyelid stitched. my eye lid was SWOLLEN and my eyeball was RED.

also, that "knife wound" doesn't even look like a knife wound. i was also wondering...who would cut a "B" on someone's face and put it backwards??? it looks real suspect.

Where in the article does it say that the assailant walked away.

Again the only time the term butchering is used is when YOU used it. It says scratched

I know someone that was abused by her husband and was repeatedly hit in the face and the swelling was never that bad.

You're stretching the truth to discredit the story. Absolutely pathetic. If it comes out that this was staged then like I have always said I will eat my words but for now......

And by definition what happened to her falls under the realm of mutilation

to injure, disfigure, or make imperfect by removing or irreparably damaging parts

I feel sorry that the woman was robbed, but I think the whole, "he say the McCain sticker and decided to attack her" is fabricated.

I do find it odd that since the thief was described as dark skinned, he is immediately an Obama supporter without there being a shred of proof. With a statement like the one you made, its in bold JIC, what would expect someone to believe?

The story is stretching it. From that link, the information would have sufficient, but the inclusion of the McCain sticker wants to make the attack/robbery appear as if it were politically motivated. That's not even 50/50, more like 100% that someone wanted to rob someone to get money.

The fact that the guy attacked her after he saw the sticker is questionable in itself.

While you concede there is a chance it isn't politically motivated, you failed to answer my question in the previous post about you statement of this person being an Obama supporter. You are making an ignorant assumption about someone's political affiliation based on the mere belief that he attacked her because of a sticker. That's really reaching and totally contradictory of your post I quoted earlier.

Ok first off let me go ahead and CONCEEDE(WOW IMAGINE THAT I WILL ADMIT I WAS WRONG)that I did make a bias assumption. That being said let me also make this last argument and while it doesn't justify it will also bring some contrast.

Last week and during the last debate there was an issue with "radical/ignorant" etc. McCain supporters showing up at McCain rallies shouting obscenities like "terrorist" etc. People made the same I guess you could call "bias assumption" that I did. That they were ignorant/mccain supporters without having any idea as to whether or not they were a plant, whether or not they were simply there to start shit, or whether or not they support another canidate

Hopefully though the police investigation in this case is successful and they find this guy. If they find the guy and it comes out that he is IN FACT a Obama supporter than my opinion stands. That it was an ignorant addition to the already incredibly stupid crime that the assailant commited
