    Default Moving To Atlanta Ish Area

    Hello, My name is Khalifa and I my brother and I are moving to Georgia (kennesaw I think) Sometime within the next couple of months. Currently I live in Fairbanks Alaska and Im really looking foward to finding someone to show me around and sorta introduce me to the scene in Atlanta.. Im 18 and my brother is 17 we are the youngest 2 in our car club (desro tuning) I drive a 2006 Turbo Pt Cruiser With an intake, exhaust and the stock TD04 turbo. I have the boost controller set to run 17 psi and I modified my wastegate to hold it there till redline. Theres a possibility that before I get there Ill have a 50 trim installed and boost to 21psi but that depends on whether I can get 3500 dollars together before the move. On the outside the car is debadged and looks stock ( I like the sleeper effect.. exept in a small town like fairbanks everyone knows the car already) My brother drives a 2006 Cobalt SS With an intake, exhaust and a stage 2 on the way.. basically aside from getting a feel for the tuner scene in Atlanta I have a couple of other questions.. How are your emissions laws? Here in Fairbanks if your pcm shows no codes your good to go. How are your noise ordinances my car isnt particularly loud but it does pop and crackle while decelerating (typical For an srt-4 motor) and my brothers car is pretty loud.. How are the cops down there? Just a couple of questions Id appreciate the help lots thanks.

    Thanks lot haha yeah Import Ill get a little Honduh Daily driver or something once I get there play around with some little JDM goodies... especially if I get the 50 trim In the sleeperwagon

    Welcome Khalifa, I'm originally from Anchorage myself (going up there to visit in a week or so) Any questions you have feel free to shoot me a pm.

    Emissions - Depends on the county you live in, Kennesaw is Cobb Co. and I'm not to familiar

    Cops - Cobb Co. is strict but as long as you dont do anything stupid they will leave you alone.

    Noise - I had test pipes on my G35 and it was loud as hell.. never had one problem.

    Yea man I live in the kennesaw area and have lived here my whole life- I help you out. As for noice ordinaces- nothing too serious, but it will get you eyed down and possibly pulled over faster. I just moved back up to atlanta from savannah so I am still meeting people up here. I guess I can forgive you and your bro and meet yall even though yall have the duh mestics (j/k) later, james

    Awesome cant wait... How are the cars there? Fast? The fastest car we have here in fairbanks is either my buddy jeremiahs WRX (mid 12) and my other buddy libbys SRT(High 12's) Actually I think there is a 11 second GNX too but he doesnt really hang out with us... he just drives by fast and picks on us on the road (ricer old man)

    there are many very nice cars and whole lotta crap. some fast 1/8 and 1/4 cars and some good autox cars. depends on the type of racing as to fast. compared to Alaska I dont think youll be dissapointed.

    Mid 12's to high 12's.. would be considered fast I guess, it depends on who you hang out with. My car was high 12's and I got my ass handed to me a couple of times, it all depends on who you hang out with.

    Gas prices are around $3.00 / gallon. Depends on where you get it and what grade you use, ofcourse.

    Well 3.00 seems to be close to where we are at Anyway Heres a Pic of a few of the Desro Tuning cars Including my brother and I

    We have the Siver Miata (supercharged, suspension, Stock appearance)
    The Wrx (Vf22, Tein Suspesnsion, EDFC, And god knows how much more stuff)
    The little GTI (Lots of stuff Im not sure what all it has though)
    The Slowbalt My bros car Intake Exhaust....
    The R32 Then I believe It was NA Now it has the EIP stage 2 Turbo Kit.
    The MINIVAN Its stock and slow race it

    Yeah we actually do have some decent Vehicles in alaska My buddy John has the Cleanest Integra Ive ever seen. I love the license plate on it (OMGJDM) hah And my buddy libby has AK's fastest srt-4 gt3582r powered...

    Well we werent going to go then I found this forum and The plan is to come down for like a year and Possibly Come back to AK for the summer (winter is AWEFUL here) soooo.. But we really wanna see what the Lower 48 has to offer as far as cars go Maybe run some different cars In alaska you know everyones car and Whether you will walk or be walked... so a different scene will be nice
