Not saying that the price isn't a bit high, but why are you comparing a 600 to a 750 price-wise?

BTW, his asking price is close to average retail... and 10,000 miles ain't much. I put that much on a bike in a year (and so does he, apparently)

actually you dont go buy high retail, which you obviously are. Also if it is a 07 , this is 08 which means it looses 1.5k to 2k off that price.
