Default Sprayglo Revisited - Work In Progress

So, after the previous unpleasant with sprayglo, (Click here) Ed contacted me personally to discuss the matters. I paid Sprayglo a visit, Ed apologized for the misunderstandings, and told me to bring the car back.

Since I don't have the bumper anymore, mistakes can't be corrected, Ed promised to cut me a good deal on future work.

As I've mentioned before on my previous thread. Sprayglo definitely has A quality on customer service. Since Ed and I had a serious talk this time, and they promised a show quality paint job, I'm looking forward to the ending result.

I will try to keep my opinion the most unbias as I can.

This car will be a Demo car for my company and will be all show all go car.

    Here's the new status:

I bought a whole new Full kit for the G35. Brought it over to Ed.

Kit: Urethane front bumper and Fiberglass Sides and Rears.
Side has a little crack, and bumpers have minor scratches due to shipment.

Ed gave me a rough estimate of 2,200.

June 26 - Dropped off the car to Ed. We talked a little about the rough estimate.

June 28 - Stopped by, dropped off a pair of the 07 Tail lamp so he can swap them out when doing the body work. Ed gave me a thorough quote:

    1. Show Quality OEM color Paint Job of the Entire Car - Red
    2. Custom Hood paint job (Parts color, part CF)
    3. Install and Fix bodykit for show quality look
    4. Color sand and buff + misc.
    5. Pearl Clear Coat - Custom paint job.

All together, he quoted me on $2,450. That's higher than the estimated we talked about, but I signed the paper and leave the rest to him. I hope to have the car back within 2 weeks and ready for HIN Charlotte. I'll be missing HIN Orlando though.

    More updates to follow.

    Updates:

It's been a while. Sprayglo still have my car. I let them have all the time to work on it because I want to make sure that everything will turn out right.

    So first round:

    1. They installed my kit - Fits without any problem.
    2. They fixed one of my side skirt - Has a slight crack from shipping
    3. They smoothed out minor body work
    4. They painted my car.

Before I can decided on the custom clear coat, I told them that I don't like how the bumper ended up looking with all the hair lines, grooves, etc. It's because they didn't prime the bumper.

So Gabe told Ed that I was unpleasant, so he went back and prep the rear bumper (fiberglass)

Front bumper is urethane, and it take a bit of work (prime, sand) to make everything smooth, etc.

Ed gave me a call today, told me about the price change. he said it'd be about extra 300 for the work done on the 2 bumpers and a another 300 to pain the jams.

So it came out to be 3,000 even. I gave Ed the okay to do it.

Though in my understanding, the original agreement was:

    1. Full Factory/show paint job - Includes primer and bodily fix, which should cover the primer and sanding on the 2 bumpers as well
    2. The price for installing and minor fixing the kit - would also cover the primer and sanding on the 2 bumpers as well.

But it's okay. I just want the job done right.

    Stay tune for more updates.

Thanks Gabe, Jason, and the rest of the crew for being friendly and provide great customer service.

Seems like they are just hassling around. No prep work done, no primering, price changing.

I don't know how I could deal with all that.

    Good luck !

That's what I thought. Up until now, I'll keep my opinion fair.

I'll talk over with Ed once he's back from vacation.

I'll pay them a visit tomorrow to see what's up.

This is the pic of the car I took couple weeks back when I stopped by to test fit my wheels. And that's wasn't what I expected when they said they'd do a show quality paint job.

Minor prep work and none on the kit. Kit fits perfectly.

I expected that they would prime and prep it after that, but unfortunately, no

Don't get me wrong. This is just my opinion. I don't mind paying extra for a good work.

I'm sure Ed and I can get things straight once he's back.

It's partially my fault. I wasn't able to decide on the color. Also, I want them to take their time and take care of the car and the kit properly (prep works)

Why go back to the same shop if you were unhappy with the end result of their previous work?

Ed insisted that he'd make me happy and cut me a good deal on it to correct their mistakes.

I'm not saying I'm dissapoint in the job now. The job they did was great. I'm happy of how much effort they've put on the job and great customer service. I was just a little unpleasant about the price change.

But this time, I know I'll get my money worth. There won't be "you get what you paid" for excuse anymore.

Also, I do believe in giving people the second chance, just as others have gave me.

    goodluck with everything man.

I saw your car there when my car was there getting painted. For what I paid, I'm very satisfied. Once this thing fully cures, it's time for sand/buff/wax. Just sittin and waiting.

I want to know how this works out to...I think the problem is the workers at sprayglo not Ed. They dont completely do the job like they are supposed to and cut corners to finish the job quicker. When someone catches a problem, then Ed has to charge more to fill in for the time they have to pay the worker.

I have had a car completely painted at Sprayglo, 2 spoilers, a full body kit, and 2 front bumpers.

the only thing that came out of there that was 100% to me was the spoilers. The 2 front bumpers both had to be redone.

The painted car came out pretty nice. It was a red.

Car is painted. Gabe is working on getting that thing detailed inside out.

Once again, thanks Sprayglo Crew and especially Gabe for all the hardwork.

    Update

Aug 18, 2007 - I picked up my car this afternoon. Car looks great. Paint is awesome. I haven't the change to completely check everything out, but from first glance, all things are good. There are couple noticeable spots that need to be redone.

I paid for everything and will hold on for couple weeks to see if anything else come up. I'll bring it back in September to get everything else work out.

Special thanks to Gabe again for coming through. The car looks gorgeous. Gabe came in today, personally to finish up the detailing and make sure that I get the car back. He helped me out a lot. I don't know about Sprayglo crew in detail, but Gabe is definitely the man. He took a lead on this project, and he came through with everything.

If you guys need anything, he's the guy to talk to.

No pictures yet. When we get home, it's about to rain, so no chance for any pics. I'll get some tomorrow.

I got the runaround from Sprayglo, too. Spent like $2,300 the first time to paint the car the same color and minor ding removal. Car came out like shit. Took it back to them because they said they would fix it and it. Halfway through the second time I went to check on it, it looked like shit, so they redid both fenders and both quater panels.

Finally picked it up and put it together and although most people say it looks better, I still think it looks like shit. There are chips, runs, and dirt all over the car, but you know what? They win. I can take it back if I want and they will fix it, but I don't want to...they have killed it for me.

With the issues youve had in the past and knowing you are going to be very critical of the job, i dont see why then even released the car to you with it having flaws. The owner himself should have personally inspected the vehicle with a fine-tooth comb before it was given back to you. What good is customer service on the phone or verbally if the job isnt satisfactory?

Well, reason being is that I need the car this weekend. So it's kinda my part. The other reason is that it's been there for TOOOOOO long. Almost 2 months.

Well, they did a much better job this time. I guess we'll see.

a98tegLS - Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope they correct their mistake from then.

No offense to you but i offered to buff your car knowing it would make quite a difference in the quality of the finish (slicker, glossier, run and dirt free). The car was all in peices and we discussed wetsanding and buffing it after you put it back together but i never heard from you again.
If you want to bring it back in for me to inspect it i will be more than happy to help you out.
    Thanks

I don't know who you are...

I know buffing it would make a huge difference, but I always felt that that should hae been included on the job. I don't see how you can call a car "finished" with dirt in the paint.

I am still deciding if I want to bring it back because like I said, it is a HUGE pain in my ass. I am not knocking you guys in anyway, but when I first dropped off my car, I was promised a "show car finish" and I think you would agree, that is not what I got. Well, maybe 6th place in the show :-)

I'm sure Gabe would be able to help you out a98tegLS. Send him a PM and he'll help you straighten it up

I didn't take any pics, but here are the ones I borrowed from couple friends.

These are not the best pics since the sun setting isn't right.

Car's now back in the shop to get things worked out and ready for tunerfest.

I'll take some detail quality shots later.

    Update:

Tuesday, Aug 21, 2007 - I brought my car back to SprayGlo to get some minor fixes: hood alignment, laser jammer position, and bracket for the rear tag, and fix the wavy-ness of of front bumper.

I pick up my car today, hood is getting a bit better, tag is on (lil crooked, but that's okay.)

They put some support screw for the front bumper etc. to tide it down. We'll leave 2 weeks for it to settle.

Car will be back 2 weeks later to got some other things fixed and hopefully the front end will be okay by then.

Btw, they dirtied my wheels. Now I have to go clean them myself.....

Well, it's not specific. The price was included in the overall price.

    Update:

I haven't the chance to bring my car back to get many other things iron out. It's getting the audio work done.

But they are aware of the stufs they'd have to do to fix the car and they are good about it.

So once everything is done (audio work) I'll have the car back there and fixed up.
