It's not the wrong grille, It looks to be a 99-00 grille because it sits in perfectly with the bumper, so either it's aftermarket (which in itself explains it), or it's just fitted wrong.
there's no way to could be a 96-98, because it would sit completely wrong on the bumper.

No front lip, and the fog light inserts and lower grille appear to be painted (instead of the factory black). Has it been involved in a front end collision of any sort? Maybe that would explain the gap between the upper grille and the hood? Also, no "DOHC VTEC" decal on the lower quarter panel. Maybe it was just completely repainted?

I have seen alot of civics with that same gap. You prob just need to adjust the hood release. That was the prob with my car. Either that or the small bump stops on the core support that keep the hood from closing all the way. Def a clean car. Just needs the front lip and it's set.

.......... And alot of ppl take off the dohc stickers off. Dnt know why, but they do.

It does appear to be the hood, bc gap is across little bumper parts too. previous owner says car was stolen and recovered in miami in the past, also involved in fender bender in past. so maybe explains parts repainted/replaced. Also I have the front lip, came with it. it is way too low to put it on. was the front lip stock?

there is no theft on the title. maybe was reported as accident instead, with parts missing maybe it looked like it? i dunno. just what i was told. make your own guess.. carfax is posted.Here is what i was told by last owner (1st accident- no clue), (2nd accident-theft), (3rd accident-hood flew up and smashed in windshield on hwy)

Just throwing this out there. I kind of already have set plans for this car, but wondering what its worth as is. If I can get enough money, or the right trade for it Ill sell/trade it. BAD: 3/4" gap between grill and hood. I think its the wrong grill. was there when I got it.

it could be a 96-98 hood because it has the same gap between the bumper and the hood. i had a 96 coupe that the guy swapped out the bumper,headlights and fender's to a 99-00 and it still had the 96-98 hood. it fit just like that.

How Much? any wear? mine is perfect too...Look at me modding as i prepare to possibly trade it off.

But you wont find a neear mint 00 si!!!!!!

These are hard and harder to find in good shape!!!


BTW the front end is like that because it was in a wreck a couple of times going by the carfax, and also the rear end had a impact also...But a used car you have to expect something like this its not new by all means, but looks great!!!! Best of luck
