Default FS: 1988 Honda Accord LXi

    1988 Honda Accord LXi

Okay, so the deal is I got this in a trade for my Subaru plus some money. I didn’t really want it, but DID want to sell my Subaru, so I took it and the cash. I took A LOT of pictures, but wanted to get everything I knew out of the way so I wouldn’t have tons of questions down the road. I will try and cover everything so I don’t get asked tons of simple questions, but I’m sure I’ll miss something somewhere. Here goes:

    1988 Honda Accord LXi

127k on odo, but odo isn’t original, and owner said it has 20k more, so 147k

    5spd. manual tranny

    VIN-1HGCA5549JA052694

    Mods, lol:

    Pioneer Headunit with AUX input

    The Good:

Fuel Injected! Has very recently (last 5k) had the timing belt, water pump, headgasket, crank seal, valve cover gasket, a/c belt, and alt belt replaced. When I purchased the car last Thursday, I noticed a CV joint clicking, so I replaced BOTH CV joints and front brake pads Saturday. When I did the joints, I filled the tranny with FRESH Honda transmission fluid. The a/c didn’t work, so I took and got it recharged, but we did it ourselves, and it’s not super cold, but works. The tires on the car have good life left, but one is a Kumho while the other three are Goodyears. I couldn’t find any rust! The interior is SUPER clean!

    The Bad:

The guy said he thought the clutch had maybe 30% left. I’ve driven it for a few days, and have had no slippage of any kind, so I don’t know. The power antenna doesn’t work. Cruise doesn’t work. The rear sunroof drains are stopped up, so if you park it with the nose facing uphill they will fill up, and when you drive the car and head downhill, you’ll apparently be given a bath. I didn’t want to try this, so I just parked it with the nose downhill, lol. No floor mats. The speakers kinda suck. The paint is meh, but I tried to get some closeup pics to show it. The rear window tint is bubbly. There is a dent on the rear driver’s quarter panel, but it’s not bad. There’s also a place on the trunk lid, shown in pics. The hood has a few minor dings as well, but the rest of the car is surprisingly clean! The front passenger wheel cover is losing it’s paint. The engine is kinda dirty, but it started raining before I finished the pics, so I didn’t get any engine shots. The guy assured me it leaks no oil, and the mess there was just due to when the gaskets were changed. I haven’t really had the car long enough to see this for sure, but it doesn’t SEEM to be leaking. The rubber and trim is old and cracked in a few places. The cigarette lighter acts weird. It works, but not really, lol. I think it might need to be replaced, but maybe the plug on the back is just loose. I know for sure the a/c system has a leak, but the pump works great, so it’s probably just in the lines. I filled the system Friday, and it was still working fine today. I have a can of Freeze12 stop leak I plan to put in the system to help it out a bit, but haven’t yet.

I guess that’s it guys. I’m asking 1400 obo, which I think is fair considering all the things recently replaced on the car. I'll trade plus cash for a 5th or 6th gen EX sedan 5spd. I MIGHT take a 6th gen auto just so it's EX. I'm also looking for an Accord wagon. Just let me know what you got, sedan or wagon, lol...

Now for my barrage of pics!!!

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. GLWS. Damn clean for the age of the car.
