above the brake pedal assembly there is going to be a hole that a little rubber nipple sits in, it holds the brake switch in which turns off your brake lights, when you hit the brakes the pedal moves forward and the switch is activated and the brake lights come on, all you have to do is locate where the rubber piece was and replace it with something as over time they get dry rotted and fall out, had the same problem, i replaced mine with a nut and bolt. reps
