Fuel guage and fuel use issue
My 93 del sol supposedly has a 11.9 gallon tank, but ever since I've had it, filling it full puts the needle just under the full mark and driving it to "empty" leaves the needle a bit above the E mark. Funny thing is, when I fill it up "full" only about 9 gallons goes in from that E mark. (the car also hesitates to start at this E mark because there is such little gas...I assume). What am I missing here?

Fuel filter?
Fuel floater?
Cluster problem?

Its beisde fuel pump i believe. Under a medal cover, similar to fuel pump cover. My EK does the same..Pisses me off.

What does yours do specifically? Because mine is OFF by 3 gallons!! Which sucks when I can never break 300 miles per tank

^ EXACTLY. when i get 300 miles to a gallon, im slap on e. One minute, ill have half a tank and then the next minute ill have a quarter of a tank. And i have a STOCK y7 with si z6 trans. So,i should be well over 300 miles to a tank. And like said before, i get about 9 gal when im on "empty" and fill up

Well fuck me hahaha. I'll baby the hell out of my (stock si) 2300 POUND CAR!!! and I'll be sitting pretty at 90 miles to a quarter tank, then it dives to a hair above half...DOUBLE TAKE?! lol.

NICE! Yeah my fuel gauge freaking stops working a lot! I know its basically full… and it will be when im parked… then driving down the road 5 minutes later ill look down and the needle is totally on E… then 5 minutes later im at half tank… back to e again…WTF???
