    Default 98 Teg NO START issue!!!!

    I've got a 98 Integra Ls that for some reason seems to keep killing dizzies.... does anyone know what could cause this? I just put a second one in and after about 30 mins the dizzy heats up BAD and car won't start back. I'm getting pissed I just need it to run. And does obd2a or b make a difference??? Thanks in advance IA

    Check wires, start feeling each wire at the dizzy plug to see which is getting hot, then check that circuit.. Somewhere the wires are melted together in the harness, on the integra the harness runs under the battery tray, so look there!

    The metal part of the dizzy it scalding, car ran fine then started sputtering and back firing wouldnt hardly go when given gas at all. Bogs then cuts out but is getting fuel and was getting spark, now no spark I wonder what can burn up a dizzy that quickly.

    It has a short!! ether its in the engine harness or faulty dizzy... Reman shit from autozone,etc is garbage!!

    Well the dizzy that was on it when i bought it went bad and now the second oem one is too. It's weird that it idled for a lil while but would barely move then boom no spark again. I'll try an engine harness next i guess

    Check what you have... And Are you buying used stuff?

    I had a friends car do the same thing you are describing. Changed the wiring harness and dizzy, and all was good after that. We couldn't find the short and I just happened to have spare parts at the time...

    Was there a motor swap involved in this? Could be something very simple, as checking your grounds and your fuse boxes. Check all the wires that go from to the positive terminal to the fuse box right by the batter box. If it starts sputtering and not giving gas to fuel injectors. You could be charging something else such as your ABS instead of your battery.

    No swap was done, car is all stock.... Bought it with a bad trans, no exhaust, cat, O2's etc started doing this the second time I drove it. Replaced the diff in the trans and put it all back together then it decided to not start. I replaced the dizzy and it started but did the bog and sputter thing. Then it stopped starting again.....maybe the harness is bad I need one I guess, anyone have one??

    check the firing order....
    or your dizzy might be 180 out
    i bought a new dizzy once and it was 180'd out removed the pin and 180'd the piece that goes into the head from the dizzy and
    it started right up.....
