Exclamation Gas smell in cabin intermittently

    Car is a b18c1 swapped 93 cx
    intake
    header
    exhaust
    OBD1 p72 stock ecu.

every now and then the car smells like gas to the point where i get a headache. i cannot pin point the problem because it happens intermittently. I typically smell it when i turn my heater on in the morning.

Could it be my charcoal canister? i know that the canister that came with my engine had an extra line that would not attach anywhere.

i have replaced the fuel cap
every other part on the car is brand new except for the fuel pump and the FPR.

have any of you experienced this gas smell before? and what was the problem?

    thanks.

i had a similar problem.. smells like gas when the windows are down but not when they're up. i figure it's an exhaust leak.

My miata does the same. I just deal.

Im missing an exhaust gasket though, where the exhaust manifold meets the downpipe before the cat. Bad leak, of course, ive just been too lazy to fix it.

The gasket where the fuel pump is located under your rear seats has gone bad.... Had the same problem and that was it...

Wiggle your injectors while the car is on and see if they leak..... That can be the problem too...
