    Default Check engine light on

Light is on and when I press the gas the car shudders. The engine doesn't bog down but you can feel the vehicle jerk when the gas is pressed. Any thoughts?

Jump the ecu and find out what the code is.

Not familiar with that process, I will try looking it up. Thanks for your help.

Maybe you could start by telling us what you drive?

Check your Hondata. It will tell you what the code is for.

How do I check my hondata? Last guy that tried connecting an obs2 scanner said it wouldn't read anything. Help?

There is a jumper plug, usually near the ecu in the passenger footwell, that you can insert a jumper wire into. it should flash out a diagnostic code via the cel.
