    Default 97 accord Exhaust help

So I have a 97 accord and i want to put together and exhaust system on my own without having to fail my emissions. Don't know much about cars atm the moment but I have a pretty good learning curve so just looking for some tips or help to point me in a good direction to start. Trying to keep the build under 150.

Import lesson #1: JDM means Japanese domestic market and refers to parts that are original equipment. No aftermarket exhaust company makes a "JDM" exhaust.

As for the seller, pay attention to their rating. If its high, they are good to deal with.

The terms JDM, Type R, etc. are all used to attract buyers. There is in fact nothing JDM about his exhaust.

May I suggest just finding a good quality, used exhaust? That way you'll be more likely to get a good sound, at least more so than an Autozone muffler....

The easiest place to look would be the classified section on this forum or if there is a regional section on your Accord forum.

A SRI is commonly called a "hot air intake" because it sucks in the hot air from the engine bay. They are usually just for looks or sounds because performance will usually diminish. The two main choices to consider would be the stock air box with a good filter or a cold air intake. Both systems have draw backs. The stock air box is not going to look or sound any better, but you will not lose any performance. Since the air box is a closed element filter system, excessive dirt is kept out of the filtration chamber and the motor is safe from hydrolock. With a CAI you will see the most performance gain, it looks great, and sounds great. However, the biggest concern is hydrolock. The filter is located very close to the ground, especially if your car is lower, and the possibly of sucking up water during a rain storm is high. Also the filter tends to get dirty much quicker and will need periodic cleaning.

So my best option is a CAI because I already have a K&N filter in the stock box now. Glad u told me the SRI would bring down performance because I was gonna get one for a short amount of time then replace it with a CAI.

Well from wat i can see my CD is non v-tech so I'll look into it a bit more. Any thoughts on getting coilovers on a budget?

I can't recommend doing anything but a full body coilover setup and a bushing refresh, as I've been on both sides of the fence. Riding on sleeved coilovers with stock shocks is horrible, scary (especially over 80mph) and I would never do it again on any car I'll ever own. I strongly suggest saving some money and getting Function/Forms setup. It's only 600 bucks.
