install the dizzy on the engine with no rotor button and wiggle the rotor shaft, if there is play then yes the bearings in it are bad but if there is no play then it is either bent or your cap is on crooked.
I didn't take the rotor back off, but I tried wiggling the rotor and there is NO movement. How can the cap be on crooked though? It screws in just fine and it's brand new. Also, can the distributor shaft get bent that easily?
