It's the release/throwout bearing - I have the exact issue but I put anti-seize between the fork/slave cylinder piston to stop the squeaking noise - but still have bearing chatter when off the clutch. Time for a new clutch my friend!

its the imput shaft bearing on the tranny my tranny does it also and when you push in the clutch it stops and when you let it out in when it starts and the throw out bearing only work with the clutch pushed in and it stop working when the clutch is out because when the clutch is pushed in is when the throw out bearing is up againest the pressure plate spinning

When you pull trans you will see if the throw out bearing is noisy, if it is there is your problem, also grab the input shaft and if it moves, then you input shaft is probably the cause of the noise.

Yeah either way to really get in deeper you'll have to pull the trans - not too difficult of a job like most think.
