I've done it before welded the diff together....
will always catch with both tires...bad side is that its not street drivable
you can only turn the wheels just a little or else axles will pop out or break.....
but it perfect for the track on straight aways......
LMAOand the reason mustang ricers do it is because its RWD, Spider gears are used for turning ( power transfer ). locking spider gears on a FWD = FAILURE

hahaha spider gears are for turning on fwd......
i thought that whats the steering and rack in pinion was for.......
i've daily driven a welded diff with no problem just had to make wide turns.....
stay in school kid cuz you think u know but your clueless.....ive been doing this since you were playing with pokemon cards......lolololololol
Lol calm down street mechanic. Mayb u should go back to school and listen to people with more knowledge then u.
The main purpose of the differential is to allow each half of the axle (each tire) to spin at different speeds, while supplying an equal amount of force to each wheel in that axle.* The need for the wheels to rotate at different speeds is especially apparent when turning corners.

I'm not gonna weld it I'm gonna shim them so when I turn one can spin at a diff speed and its not a ricer thing because a ricer couldn't take a tranny apart they would just paint the tranny or put neon lights on it

i know how a diff work
i was just saying you can weld it, and it will work but like i said its only for racing on straight aways
and i didn't buy my certificates mr i don't even know what size my pistons are....so i wouldnt talk coming from the guy who
drove all the way to the southside to have someone else check a motor for them....
Just buy a limited slip diff.
My friend has a 2 way cusco diff on his type r trans. It basically doesn't give. It has a bad turning radius at slow speeds and pops and groans. Just buy a 1 way lsd or something. But welding the spider gears makes life pretty helacious. However the vehicle will turn, it has nothing to do with that. both the inner and outer wheel will both spin at the same speeds, but they will turn. Not like they will be locked into place and you won't be able to steer either. My vote is that it will suck unless you plan to track it a lot.
Phantom Grip LSD. i have wanted to see one of these in action...
