Questions regarding h22a

Hey guys im new to the forums I got a h22a I want to swap into my 97 ex I have been doing a lot of looking for swap threads to get a clear idea of what im in for. I have done motor swaps before and I know how to work on cars, I also have a haynes manual but swapping a motor into a car that it was not intended for is new to me.

I know I need a h series tranny how many different ones are there? is there one I want to stay away from or are they all pretty much the same?

^^^^so true.... I have the best factory h22 tranny they made with everything upgrated in it except dog cutt gears and still have prob shifting at high rpm.... So unless your not racing it goh2b

I don't know what h to b means but im assuming its a kit of some sorts that allows a b series trans mount up?

Correct, just an adapter to fit a B-series trans onto a H-series engine. A few companys sell them for decent prices. Also get some good mounts and dont cheap out on anything regarding drivetrain. Also get some good axles.

here is a quick price list

JDM H22A from JEI = 1K
QSD H2B kit = 750 shipped
Bseries mounts = PERSONAL PREFERENCE
Bseries Stock axles ( dont waste ur time on aftermarket axles unless u dont know how to launch, i ran stock BSERIES axles never had a single problem, SAME goes for our 250+hp ALL MOTOR CAR

Bseries Transmission = personal preference
Bseries Clutch and flywheel = personal preference

thats a rough list, there are tons of write ups on the internet, do ur research and google.

Thanks affiliated I have been doing lots and lots of reading but everything im finding is old outdated information and the pictures are gone and the links half the time don't work on all the threads I find.

I have just read over and over again about axles popping out / binding so that was a concern for me.

H2b is deffently the best route but it is a little pricey. I have both lol. One with a stock h series tranny (runs pretty good lol) and one thats being built h2b as we speak. I have never realy had that many problems shifting the h series tranys and no problems with axle bind or poping out. Im also using the cheap 69 dollar ebay mounts no problems lol. The problem is that its not a cut and dry swap you have to cut things and drill holes and mount shift linkage were as with the h2b kit besides making a wiring harness is pretty cut and dry. Also you get better gearing and less drive train loss through the b series tranny . I will cost more but like stated you will be happier in the end . Normaly going h2b shaves half a second off your time that is worth the 750 dollars any day of the week. post a build thread and anybody on here will be glad to help you figure out anything you need to.

I really am not quite ready to post a build thread. The car is my daily driver. Only parts i have at the moment is engine and I really want to tear it down first and have the machine shop check it out. If someone could shoot me a pm of what all im going to have to change, modify, or get that would be great.

My main confusion is with electrical and how I setup my ecu and i know there is more than one option out there.
