Default Civic Belt squeak, EJ2, video included.

So I was driving today, at about 60 mph in 4th gear, and it sounded like a sort of big peice of metal came off from inside the engine bay, and I pulled over, and checked to see what was missing and I couldnt really spot anything. so I pulled out and it drove just like normal, now when I get home, I turn it off, go to start it again, and there is a very high pitched squeal coming from I THINK the alternator, and it goes away after a minute. Now it comes back on when I turn the AC on, and then off when the AC is off. I removed the AC belt, and it still does it, heres the video. Anything you guys can tell me would be a great help, I just recently got the car.

Sounds like the belt is loose .. You shouldn't be able to twist it thats how tight it needs to be .

while its running look at it during the day and check for smoking and smell . Might be a locked up pulley/compressor .

Nope ... Not unless your battery is dead my friend You can take that belt off and it will still not flash ..Your alternator don't charge at all times there for it will not flash .

Yeah I would check your vtec I bet it's on the side of the road lololol.........

You have to inspect your own car for what fell off we can't just assume what is the problem but if you like I would say you bought a POS .... But on a serious note check to make sure your motor is still in the car .

i swear it's your vtec man. its just gone. packed its bags and took off for a vacation, tired of you using it all the time.

but in actuality i looked at it the other day for you, and as far as i saw nothing was missing, your belt was just very loose, and the alternator was all the way on it's tightest setting, install that belt and go from there. (the belt you have flexed a bit, took some viagra or something) check your power stee....... oh yeah. fuckin dx.

But it only came on because the alternator wasn't spinning at all . But belt being loose it will not make the light flash .
