    Question WHAT CAUSED THIS???

why are all of the pistons dirty accept one?
when i pulled the intake mani the second pipe on the mani was pretty dirty down where it connects to the head.

the intake valves are second to the right in this next pic. not sure what the exhaust valves look like, theres one last bolt i cant get off the mani
on the valve side of the head the valves for piston 2 were basically clean

    what could've caused this???

Looks like lack of anything burning in that cylinder.

Crappy gas would detonate like hell. It's almost like the cylinder is filling up, not burning, and then being dumped back out.

could that have been because of the blown headgasket? maybe antifreeze was stopping the combustion?

blown headgasket, burning coolant will cause a cylinder to be incredibly clean.

Blown head gasket around that cylinder had coolant or water fuzing to keep it clean. Also may been a dead cylinder all the time...
