Default G23 swap VS H22a swap

OH ok I google and google and google I and I found a pretty good write up on how to do the swap which is not a problem my question is what is pros and cons on doing a G23 swap? I have two accords at this time one the 95 has the h22 swap and the 97 has a f23a1 swap.. I plan to go turbo hopefully soon What is my best bet stick wit the h22 and build it for turbo or wit G23 turbo?

If anybody got suggest that has heard anything bout this swap or done it please let me know....

G23 is the frankenstein of all frankenstein's, this engine has bits and pieces from everywhere but is a good motor if you know what your doing. Most of the guys on this forum will probably vote for the H22 because its "stock" and makes "good power" to begin with, your choice.

^^^ What he said. It's a little bit of a hassle but its a good engine. But a mild built or stock h22 will give you all the power you would prolly need with less headache.

OH! forgot, the factory IRON sleeves in the F series blocks allow the use of forged internals with little to no hassle compared to the H series counterparts.

I vote G23. It has proven time and time again how beast they can be. then add boost to it and its a nice TQ monster. but honestly id build the "F" (but thats not what this is about) and boost the shit out of it....

I Vote "G" even though i do love the H22. My fave motors are H22 and F22, and whats better than the two combined? lol

just be carefull, my friend hand a g23 in a del sol with h22 tranny and that thing was a BEAST!!!!, if you do the g23 right (i would take it to someone who has done it before) you would get basically best of both worlds, the strength of the f block and dohc vtec from the h head, perfect combo for boot

Why use a bottom end not made to rev past 7k, ie f23, weak rods, weak rod bolts, poor rod stroke ratio etc. Taken from someone who has built a few.... Its cool if u got shit laying around, or you wanna build without sleeving. But if it was just stock to stock.

the G23 is a good build, but like stated before it has weaker internals, and on top of that aftermarket rods for the f23 are very expensive. It is nice to have a motor without FRM liners in the sleeves, but Mahles FRM compatible pistons make it alot easier to build a H.

In my opinion for the price of the build, i would put Eagle rods, MAhle 9.0:1 pistons and a nice valvetrain in a H. You can get the pistons and rods for a H for almost the same price as rods for a f23.

Damn.... I understand were everybody coming F23 rods are weak but I have had two accord hswaps and thats common thing for accords when you go to car shows.... I wanna do something different so its either G23 or k24(this swap is little out of my price range)...... But I've done my google and seen and read all i can read..... But all I can do is try it... Only two things can happen I blow up the motor or I build a sucess motor

GO g23!!! i would boost the hell out of that f23 and call it a day. You can put in 97-01 h22a4 crank and rods in the f23 and then you will be able to rev to 8. I always wanted to build one of these but it seems like a lot of trouble. Seems like a beastly setup. f23 loves boost and they are so cheap so why not?

G23 with a b tranny would be sweet lol. Seen one in an EF Hatch, wonder if he ever did this or not, been over a year.

I'd say H22, but do what you want. H22's aren't easy to squeeze more more out of tho. It's one of their only downsides. Bolt-ons certainly don't do it. I mean it has great power to begin with, but if you wanted more, you really have to go to work on the internals. Most people save the boost for an H23, but its certainly not unheard of to boost the H22a.
