kyb's are decent replacement shocks, but not performance or lowering shocks by any means. they are out of their working range for the internal valving, and are giving you the shitty ride.
why not raise the car up to where you would like it, and see how it rides. easy - plus its FREE!
if it still rides shitty, replace the shocks with some good ones - (koni, tolico illumina, etc.) and see how it rides. still don't like it - then get springs. at least you'll have good shocks then...
i have tokico illuminas and ground controls (with 380 front and 450 rear rates) on one of my cars, and it rides better than stock. how? it's got good shocks and is at a working ride height.
