***HELP!***
I've got an EG hatch with an Ls swap and a built head (I/H/E, cams, gears, 65mm TB, fuel rail and adj. regulator, Skunk2 intake, port/polish, new valve stem seals and guides, tuned by Scotty, at Mainstream).
About 2 weeks ago, it started bogging, like it was about to stall, every time I give it gas.
It idles fine, but as soon as I try to drive, it starts the bogging then catches up and jerks the shit out of the car.
It does it starting off, every time I change gears and while driving (or at least trying to)at speed.
I'm about to lose my mind with this thing, so I'm gonna list everything I've done and hope some of you have some more ideas.
- No cel's.
- New NGK plugs, NGK wires, cap and rotor...I even swaped out distributors with another Ls one that I had laying around, but no change.
- New fuel filter and plenty of pressure at the filter.
- New PCV valve (it's the kind that plugs into the valve cover) and checked the tube for clogs.
- Checked the resistance of the injectors with an ohm meter. They're within spec (all between 11.2 -11.5).
- Checked to make sure the cam gears/crank pulley line up right and belt hasn't jumped.
- Checked timing with a timing light.
- Made sure that the MAP, TPS, IACV and everything else I can think of are plugged in.
- MAP and TPS are new and IACV has been cleaned.
- Drained most of my tank to check for water in the gas. There was some, but very very little. More consistant with, maybe, just a little condensation.
I've also prayed to God, contemplated making a sacrifice to Satan and punched my house and the tree next to where I park, several times!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, IA!

does it idle fine? can you rev it up? do a compression test, takes 10 minutes and will tell you alot

I know you swapped distrubutors with one you had laying around, but are you sure its good? if theres a chance its not, try a different one. other than that- i don't have any ideas. 8/

is compression good? by the sound of it, no cel, changed everything, fuel is good, new dizzy.. you should have a healthy engine. check compression, and while at it look at your spark plugs
-
make sure the sensors are hooked up right if u have them reversed the same thing could happen
-
might wana check up on your ecu taking a shit on ya , may need to retune and get another ecu , a friend of mine had same shit happen on the way home from the dyno , rite after scotty tuned it . ecu went bad
-
Thanks, for all the suggestions, ppl!
Keep in mind that it was running AWESOME for over a month, after my tune, then just went to shit all in one day.
To answer your concerns...
Plugs were only 3 months old and I pulled them last week, when this first started, and they were fine.
BUT, this week, I pulled them and they were fouled dry black, so I replaced them this week. Still no change.
Idles fine, but when I rev it, sitting still, it does the same bogging shit.
Checked TPS and MAP plugs and they are not switched.
God, I hope my dizzy and ecu are good! I'm running out of money trying to trouble shoot this thing and don't really have money for new ones.
Checked comp when I put the new head on, about a month and a half/2 months ago, and it was good.

borrow a friends ecu for a quick minute, plug it in and drive. it doesnt matter what ecu, vtec, non vtec, a chevy ecu.. dont matter lol
-
Yeah, I've got a Dx ecu, somewhere.
Guess I'll have to find it and see what it does.
DAMN, I hope my chipped and tuned ecu isn't shot.
There's no way I can afford to get it all redone.

DING! DING! DING!
Thanks, dirk and RBS!
It's either the ECU or the tune!
I plugged in my old DX ECU and the bogging is gone and it's drivable.
I've got a cel and it won't idle, but it drives.
Talked to Mainstream and they said get it to them and they'd try to help me figure something out.
Only thing is Scotty is on vacation and won't be back til later next week.
BUT, at least I'm mobile, again! WHEW!
Thanks, a lot, guys and I'll let you know where it goes from here.

UPDATE!
Turned out to be the TPS.
I took one off another TB I had layin around and it seems fine, now.
Haven't taken it on a good ride yet, only about a half mile down the road and back, but it runs and idles, no CEL and no more bogging.
What really sucks is that the TPS that went bad was the BRAND NEW one that came with my Blox TB.
Only lasted a couple hundred miles before it went out.
Again, thanks, for all the suggestions, guys.
