Default New problem with my prelude

so now i have a reason to believe maybe it wasnt my starter that was causing my cars problems

i went to go start the car...same thing the starter sounded like it was still engaged after the car started.
but then i noticed my key wouldnt turn @ all! and my car was running...

as i drove to my house from my neighbors house, everytime i engage the clutch to shift, the cars lights would dim and it sounded like the starter was being engaged

now my ignition system is locked up and i i even took the key out and the car was still running...
as of now, the ignition lock will not turn and if i connect the battery the car wake up but doesnt crank cuz the ignition is stuck

    someone help!

disconnect the battery, remove the upper and lower plastic covers for the steering collumn, remove the ignition switch on the left side via 2 phillips screws, take a rubber mallet and start hitting the ignition tumbler in multiple areas. LOL, it works 90% of the time
