    Default motor mounts

okay guys, I am having a little problem. My car is sitting pretty low and my ebay header is pretty low and has hit the ground several times. Problem is I now have some kiddracing headers and we all know those sit alot lower than the ebay ones. I was wondering if there are any mounts that raise your motor a little higher even if I need to do a hood tilt.

Raising the car is my last option.

Not sure on the mounts but all I did with my Hytech rep ( which hung low ) was bolted it to the head and bent it up into place so that I could use an exhaust hanger. Worked for me and I didn't have to raise the car up.

Assuming the header is already installed, use a jack or something under the collector to push the downpipe up into the right place so that you can use a factory exhaust hanger to hold it up in that place.

    Did that make sense?

The only way I can think of raising the engine is to have billet motor mounts and machine some off of the bottom and use longer bolts and washers on the back mount. But that would compromise hood clearance and axle angle if you overdo it. I'd just get a header that hugs the oil pan a little better or just live with scrubbing the header for a while.

so your saying shave the bottom of the screws from the shell of the car and get some longer screws with washers???

what headers that make good power are you referring to?

and about the axle angle it will actually help it, the higher the motor is. its already bent bad because the car is almost slammed so the higher the motor the more straight it will be. I dont think the kiddracing will even clear the ebay one is literally an inch from the ground.

Nah it wouldn't make anything out of shape that bad. Basically, you are bending the downpipe just enough for it to sit in the stock location. Use a torch to heat up the metal a little bit and you shouldn't have any issues.

No i'm saying take material away from the bottom of billet mounts. You don't have much to play with though

hmm if it makes it sit in the stock location then that means the kiddracing should have better clearance than my ebay header correct?

also what Im understanding is that the header will bend? wouldn't that make the pipe smaller and ruin the shape? I think I'm still confused. I'm sorry if it irritates you just being honest.

You really dont have any options..

    Either Raise the Car..
