Cost me over 4k to do it in my old EJ1. That was pretty cheap, especially bc it was when everyone starting doing it so prices were steep but worth it. Thats by buying the full swap from a friend who had it in his car and totaled it on his own fault. Dont expect it to be that cheap.

holy double post. it depends on where you get the swap from. the parts to make it work dont cost that much and there are write ups on how to do it the cheap way. the swaps still cost a lot more then most want to spend once they look into it.

If doing the labor urself, doing a basic k24/k20 in an eg TODAY(NOT 5 years ago!) will be around 3-5k(5 years ago; 7-9k)

?? Yeah if u get it on hmotorsonline.com! Man look, a k swap IS NOT THAT EXPENSIVE! Especially doing a k24/k20 build. Block cheap as shit, FULLY assembled head is fairly cheap, trans is fairly cheap and parts are WAYYYYYYYYY cheaper now then they were then. Put it like this. For the block, head and trans i could find it for you for $1500-2000! and all u have to do is get all the USED CHEAP swap parts to put it in an eg. SHIT u got guys selling the whole type-S swap with a lot of the swap parts needed to put in a eg/dc for $2500-3500!!

Most, if not all u can get off k20a.org and clubrsx.com!

    Just some examples!

This is a VERY VERY good deal! 5 years ago to have all this would've been $7-9k easy! All u would to do is put it in ur hatch! AND YOSOLO i hear is THE SHIT up in NYC

    http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81721

    Good turbo motor deal

    http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=82091

    And another
    http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=80683

Now keep in mind that these are built assemble motor already. If u get the block, head, tranny and parts sepertaly urself, u can SAVE EVEN MORE MONEY!
Another good deal if u want to do turbo

Just look at the links provided and read the write ups. I have a mag laying around somewhere with a list of parts needed for the swap. Nice hatch you got there btw.

    Fresh H22A longblock $900

    QSD H2B kit $800

You Use B series motor Mounts.. SO If you have stock ones tho I would recomend After market.

    Mounts $200-300

Same B Series Axles, Shift Linkage, Ect..

Straight drop in STOCK H22A with bolt ons ( Header, Intake Mani, ect) and a GOOD TUNE.. you will be at around 210 hp and 165 tq..

Then after that gets old.. (IT WONT FOR A LONG TIME)... Build it.. K KILLER!

=$1700. I told u that u can get k24 block,k20a2 head and 6 speed tranny for this much.

You Use B series motor Mounts.. SO If you have stock ones tho I would recomend After market.

Now with getting USED swap parts u looking at about $1k-$1300. and k pro is about $900(the "real" only pricey part) so yeah u spend a bit more for the STOCK k frank.

Straight drop in STOCK H22A with bolt ons ( Header, Intake Mani, ect) and a GOOD TUNE.. you will be at around 210 hp and 165 tq..
STOCK k24/k20 in eg will be around 210-215whp and 175wtq.

Then after that gets old.. (IT WONT FOR A LONG TIME)... Build it.. K KILLER!
LOL! PLEASE! If a stock h2b cant beat a stock k24/k20, how is building one gonna do it either??? If we had endless amount of money and threw it at the h2b and k24/k20, the k24/k20 will ALWAYS make A LOT more power!! AND! thats just doing the k24/k20 build. If u what to stay non-vtec k24A build, u can make even more!!

www.k20a.org man Out of hundreds of k builds i've seen over the years, k24/k20 highest i've seen was 345whp and 265wtq and k24a1(non-vtec) i seen at Go power motorsports was 390whp and 285wtq. Now obvisously u might not want to drive those on the street(even though u can) just giving u an idea all motor wise. But even in a "street" build the k24/k20 is a bit more to do them a h2b, but in the end u'll thank urself for doing it TRUST ME!

u have to remember..... we have 92-95 model civics! b and h were being built around that time. Hell b series vtec were back in 88', lol. Now u want to put a 2002+ motor in ur 92-95 civic so there is gonna be some cost involved when doing that transition, BUT IN THE END IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!

No not at all a H swinger.

you just seem like a "K" Nut swinger..

This guy obviously doesnt know much about it.. and Probly NOT going to follow threw with a K swap..

It WOULD be cheaper to do a H2B and still have a BIG bang for the Cheaper Buck!

    A good h22 longblock like mine = 1k
    Qsd is garbage
Evo kit comes with everything u need, light weight flywheel, aftermarket mounts, good clearance = around $1200
And then u still need a bseries tranny if u don't already got one

LOL! Nope not a s nut swinger, but i do love K's and i like b and h series too. Hell I'm coming from a turbo D series. I just chose to BE PATIENT and skip the B and h2b swap and go for the K! And i never said H2b's wasnt the best bang for your buck, all i want known is this is NOT 5 years ago when k swap were ridiculosly expensive. They are MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper now! and i didnt that money comparison above to show him that the STOCK k swap isnt that much more than a STOCK h2b swap(adding i/h/e of course) Yea the k is more but its not like its $3k+ more.

Cant "prove" u wrong about the tranny. Some ppl have problems and some dont. U heard 2nd gear is a problem then i'll ask u what about the infamous 3rd gear in d and b series trannys! If ur that worried about the stock k series tranny just use carbon syncros or if u have the BIG BUCKS go for a dog box tranny. but the stock 5 and 6 speed will hold up just fine.

Honda actually had a recall on the 06+ Si's transmissions for premature failure of 3rd gear. It would pop out. So the garbage part isn't myth. Rsx transmissions also have problems after mileage also.

Yea people with a budget, which is mre than half, kseries is not recommended, people dnt got money to be rebuilding NEW transmissions. Not worth it, and for bseries trannys never heard problems. As long as u maintain them they will last forever
