    Default valve cover bolt

    alright so the valve cover bolt broke on my car (96 Honda civic) and i was able to get the broken piece out of the head but now i need to know were i can get a new 1 besides the junkyard but its hard as hell since the Honda's there don't have anything on them at all. Thank you if you can help me out on this, i really need to get the car back on the road soon

    Can you just run a 10mm bolt into it?

    the bolts have a little rubber guard thing to stop oil from getting out, well i think thats what its for

    try ball engine in lilburn...
    should be in the machine shop directory, around here somewhere..

    If you needed it asap you could try dabbing some gasket maker around a 10mm bolt from a hardware store until you found a proper bolt. I don't think those bolts keep oil from seeping out though. Your valve cover gasket should take care of that. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong

    Is it one of the outside bolts or one of the ones directly on top?

    I would imagine autozone would have a oem replacement for less than $8

    autozone doesnt i went yesterday and asked and they didnt have any at all

    your gasket keeps oil from getting out, the rubber on the screw keeps valve cover from cracking since some people like to over do things

    well i ended up going to Honda and buying a new one, spent about 11 bucks on it. Thanks everyone

    well i just wanted to know if any other places sold them, and i had to drive to both honda mall of ga and gwinnett for the bolt and the rubber piece
