    Default Boosted zc problem

    Hey, i locked up my dohc zc(d16a8) bottom end and blew a hole in it, but the head is still fine, is there any way i can use any sohc bottom end with that head???? thanks.....

    Just curious what kind setup were you running on your zc, And i believe you can use a sohc block. But i could be wrong.

    i was running a stock block with a zc tranny, injectors, fuel rail, and t-25 turbo

    From what I can remember you can not use a SOHC bottom end with a DOHC head. Of couse, A D16A8 is a european ZC so it kinda changes things a bit. I don't know much about that version.

    oh i was runnin just pump gas 93, but yea man, i heard i can just get a sohc 1.6 engine and still use my dohc head on it......

    incorrect...you cant use any dohc head on any sohc block

    No no no, what were you running for fuel enrichment? Boost sensitive FPR? Higher Flowing Fuel pump? Anything?

    sounds like it detonated an blew the fuck up.

    you cant boost without SOME SORT OF FUEL upgrade, like FMU, Missing Link, INjectors, Fuel pump, etc.

    NO YOU CANNOT PUT YOUR DOHC HEAD ON A SOHC BLOCK.

    ditch the ZC now while you can (sorry chris). Pick up a D15B Vtec for $500-650 and make the same power, with the ability to do more later on

    Different strokes for different folks. Like I said before, if I was trying to build the fastest thing in the world it wouldn't be a Honda.

    nothing wrong with the ZC for low boost setups, but they are getting REDICULOUS in price and super hard to find.

    thats why i reccomend a SOHC, much easier

    you cant use dohc head with sohc block, what were you using to control the dsm injectors?
