umm what brand did you get? im assuming you got just the sleeves and are running stock shocks. well, you're going to blow the shocks if thats the case.

something other than stock, if you want a cheap adjustable and shorter strut go with KYB AGX, alot of teggy kids like those. it will also lower you another inch or so. the AGX's are shorten'd struts. best of luck

Do you care how it handles? most my cars always were lowered with stock struts and I never had issues. At least buy some new stock struts. Other wear items include tires it all matters how low you lower it.

As long as you don't lower it much more than an inch and a half your stock shocks should last you another year or so on the integra. One thing you do have to worry about however is alignment. When you lower your car it will throw off your camber and the only way to get it back correct again is to get a camber kit. You can pick up a skunk 2 camber kit for around $100.

The setup i had on my 98 integra was:
Drop Zone Adjustable Coilovers - ~$100
    Skunk 2 Adjustable Camber Kit - ~$100

I had stock shocks and rode on those for over a year with no problems. Those springs have a very stiff spring rate which makes for great handling but a rather stiff ride... The drop I had looked awesome and if you don't mind a little bit bumpy ride you'll love it...

i have eibach sportline springs, koni yellow adjustable shocks, skunk 2 adjustable camber kit, suspension tech sway bars, front strut bar and rear 4 point strut bar. I love the setup. It's on my daily driver and the ride is great.

I wouldn't cut any more than 1/3 off of it to protect the shock.

i've had sportlines on my car for about a year and a half, a holy fuck the shocks are blown to hell, when the road is smooth it feels great, but you feel/bounce every bump in the road...i'm getting kyb agx's in the near future.
