    Default what does a down pipe do?

    hey im thinkin about puttin a downpipe on my 2004 jetta gli.


    what do they do??

    how do they help my speed?

    It is a part of the exhaust system. If you get one that is bigger than stock, it will reduce back pressure. Most cars will get a bump in power.

    yeah, it will help eliminate some turbo lag

    down pipe is a differnt kinda of smoking pipe. when you smoke out of it, it gives you a downer instead of an upper

    seriosly though it routes all your engine fluids out and under the car to make it lighter.

    a downpipe makes vtech kick in at about 3,000 rpm as opposed to 10,500.

    Um, downpipe also known as "loudpipe" helps improve sound quality and looks great under your car

    Downpipes are for ricers. Just run open exhaust and you'll be fine. Instant 70+whp gain.

    in all seriously - a downpipe ( larger than stock ) allows for better engine breathability as well as flow - its especially important on turbocharged cars ( to make the breath better )
