    Default knock sensor

i have a b18c1, my check engine light is one, doesnt come on right away, but after crusing for a minute it pops on i changed the o2 sensor, but some1 told me that the knock sensor itself may be bad i dont know where it is located, can any1 describe where this is located- i figure this is side mounted but i have no clue where or what i'm looking for??????????????????????

i dont think the engine is bad runs good while it's not on but when it turns on and retards my ecu runs like shit, doenst sound like it's knowcking though.

jumping the svc connector won't cost you anything and will tell you what the issue instead of you spending time and $$ chasing your tail.

if you go on the passenger side, where your ecu is located, there is a 2 pin blue connector up close to the bottom side of the glove box, stick a paper clip in it and the check engine light will flash, count the flashes see what ya got...

4 slow and 3 fast w/o much of a pause between flashes is 43.

are you also getting 2 slow and 3 fast after that?

knock sensor is usually on the back side near the top of the block/below the head.
