Kyle is right though, his GTI costs more than that flat black piece of yours. Knowing how much parts for VWs cost, he probably has about the same amount of money in his car as you have in yours.
I'll give you another piece of advice too: Volkswagen owners are nice as they can be until you start insulting them. Then all hell breaks loose. Avoid doing this.
As per the thread's original purpose, I agree with VinhBodyS that grease remover and a towel is probably the best idea. I don't know how far it would eat into the paint, but you could always try aircraft paint remover. I wouldn't use a whole lot, but a small amount could probably remove the spray paint without damaging the original paint underneath.
