Default Cam question for my jetta

hey i got a 97 jetta ive been fixin up and its time for me to replace my timing belt so i figured id go ahead and replace the camshaft and gear. I dont have any clue on what duration/lift would be the best. I have found a site that has many and i dont know where to start.

i would honestly call them and talk to them about it, also know it isnt as simple as throwing in a cam shaft and calling it a day.

each cam is going to be designed to "do" something. some may be to produce torque others to make more top end HP others still could be used in a "race only" application, i can only assume the producers/retailers for these items could best help you.

also you could try eurotech. i hear good things.

i suggest calling eurotech \/ but i would go w/ either Techtonics/Autotech Cam & Cam shaft... i used the Euro Grind for my cabby, nice power/torque but idles a little rough
