A customer in my Brothers shop in Denver had something similar like that happen with those Glade Car air freshners (like you were describing) happen. IIRC correctly it took a while, and some heavy scrubbing, but like someone else mentioned Goo Gone, and a nice sponge, or cloth should take it out.
