    Default Electronic Speed Limiter

So two buddies with mustangs and I are coming up 75 late friday night from Reynolds(Silver Dollar) and they decide to have a little race. I see then slowing down to go from about 50 mph even though im about 2 car legnths back i downshift to 3rd catch up and when i hit 4th i passed both of them (cant beat a turbo on the interstate). Well right when i have about 1/2 a legnth on them my motor just stops like I blew up the turbo or something. I soon found out that I hit the speed limiter. I just want to know if there is a cheap mod to get rid of this b/c im pretty sure emange does not.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I would just go for a ECU remap\new ECU that would get rid of it...

Also another trick you might want to try while you are saving up for that is that if you turn the turn enough so that it turns off most of the electronic stuff on the car and hold it there for a couple of secs til you get past the limiter...just enough to turn off the electronics without engaging the starter...that works on most cars that have elec. limitiers...

if you have hicas, cut the wire enabling hicas i've heard that it is also related to your speed gov. also, check APEXi speed rev meter it disables top speed gov i believe.

You can unplug the speedsensor at the tranny, but you wont have a speedometer, or you can get a fuel cut defenser from hks or greddy for cheap. I got a new greddy one for mine for $70

    Rev speed meter works

or if you look at the wiring diagram and find the Pin for the Speed cur wire, you can cut that wire. I have HEARD that it works, dont know for sure. I have my other way of doing it via electonics

    several ways to do it.
    1. unplug the speed sensor
    2. unplug the 4th and 5th gear sensors
    3. flash the ecu
    4. (and by far the easiest) cut the yellow/green wire at the dash plug.
