first you use mold release wax, then you spray PVA onto the molds for a good release and from there, you start by brushing resin onto the molds then laying your dry carbon or in the case of pre-preg, you can just start laying up. there really is no kind of clear or anything like that on carbon parts, it is just the resin. ive done composites for quite a while for several different companies and that is all I have ever seen.
