Aeromotive fuel setup

Got the fuel pressur regulator setup ss lines gauge. when I turn on the ignition the fuel pump charges,gauge goes up.when the fuel pump stops gauge goes down, There are no leaks anywhere, nothings wet. when I crank the car up it goes back up and holds where its suppost to,car runs fine. Why dont i have consistant fuel pressure when I turn the key over?? It held before with the old one.
