Default 91 SI Gauges in 88 DX?

I was wondering if anyone knew . . . will the SI gauge cluster from a 1991 hatch fit in a 1988 DX hatch? I thought they would but my buddy thinks there's a pin or something that doesn't quite fit . . . anybody know? THanks . . .
