My first build was as cheap as I could get. I threw a cheap B18A1 block with a B16 head and it was all stock. It had alot of torque with just stock internals. Since then i have built alot more including a B18B1 turbo DelSol that ran 12.5 in the quarter. Anyway if you are on a budget just do an LS/VTEC and you will love it. If you have deep pockets go with a Type-R swap, build it and turbo it.

stick w/ b18. if your ls is in decent shape drop a vtec head and do a lsvtec or get a b18c1. much better options than the b16 in term of power/torque.

I would do an LS/VTEC swap. Cheaper and has plenty of torque.

stick with the b18, then slap a GSR head on it and that would be a bad ass motor
