A lil off topic, and a lil late I suppose, but
I read recently a common reason for MAF failure isnt chips, its air filters that are oiled. A dry filter is supposed to solve most MAF related issues. I know when I put my Injen CAI on my Jetta, its MAF dies a short time later. HTH in the future,

It happens when the filters are OVER oiled. Even with the K&N drop ins to the factory airbox if you put to much oil on them when you service then it can lead to MAF failure. Since most people dont know how to correctly oil them this happens.
